Flooring is the foundation of any room. Start with a great rug and the rest will fall into place.

There’s something about a well-chosen rug that instantly brings a room together. It might be the texture underfoot, the way it defines space, or how it subtly connects the colours and furniture in the room. Whatever it is, the rug often sets the tone long before anything else does.
Start with a rich, handwoven piece, and suddenly, choosing the right cushions or curtains doesn’t feel so hard. A muted, neutral rug might soften a space and make it calm and inviting. A bold, patterned design might become the room’s focal point—everything else working around it.
Rugs have a way of making empty rooms feel lived-in and finished ones feel complete. Whether it’s a hallway runner that welcomes you home or a large area rug that anchors the family room, it all begins from the ground up.

“I saw this carpet and instantly fell in love with it. How do I describe it? It’s both calming and invigorating, with a fiery vibrance, and features geometric curvilinear motifs. I bought it simply because I adored it, and nothing else mattered.
Once I brought it home, I knew I had to arrange the furniture and artwork to highlight this beauty, ensuring nothing took away from its lively presence.
For the upholstery, I went with solid colors—no prints. A cheerful tangerine sofa complemented the warm tones of the carpet’s borders perfectly. To accentuate the cooler hues in the center, I chose a pistachio green for the bench.
In the end, I embraced an eclectic style, mixing different periods of furniture and art to tie the room together, even with the contrasting color palettes of the carpet.”
